The Benefits of Massage

In addition to how enjoyable a great massage experience can be, there are a number of health benefits that come from massage therapy.


Studies indicate that while massage is clearly beneficial for stress relief and easing pain and muscle tension, regular therapy can also have a host of other positive impacts ... for instance:

  • Massage can alleviate chronic lower-back pain and ease medication dependence

  • Massage can increase joint flexibility and improve your range of motion

  • Massage can both exercise weak or atrophied muscles and relax tired or overused muscles

Despite indications of the above benefits, massage should never be a replacement for regular medical care.  For example, massages may not be wise if you have any type of bleeding disorder (or are taking blood-thinning medication), healing wounds, skin burns, deep vein thrombosis, bone fractures, severe osteoporosis or severe thrombocytopenia.
